There are many opportunities to support the mission of the Ursuline Sisters besides prayer and volunteer experiences:
- You can take a federal income tax deduction of up to 50% of adjusted gross income
- Larger gifts can be carried forward for 5 years on income taxes
- Gifts may also be deductible from state taxes
- You avoid paying capital gains tax on the increase in value of stock
- You receive an income tax deduction for the full market value.
Note: It must be owned for more than 12 months to quality
Bequests
- You become a member of the St. Ursula Society
- You must use our legal name "Ursuline Society and Academy of Education"
- Your estate qualifies for tax charitable deduction
- The entire bequest amount is used for deduction
- Your gift is not subject to federal estate or state inheritance taxes
- Your bequest is deductible in determine taxable estate
- There is no limit on deduction
- Bequest can be written in dollar amounts, percentage of estate value or a residual of an estate
Gifts of Life Insurance
- You can purchase a new policy or donate a current policy
- You can amend an existing policy
- You can pay some of the premiums and then give it
- You claim an income tax deduction on the present value of the policy
- You can choose to continue paying premiums and continue taking deductions
- To receive deductions, designate Ursuline Society and Academy of Education as both owner and beneficiary of the policy
In-Kind donations
- Items such as flowers for Marian Home, printing/advertising for our Ursuline Campus Art Fair, food or decorations for reunions or other items our Sisters need can all be deducted
Gifts of Remembrance
- In honoring the life of a loved one, you enable the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville to continue the legacy of spirituality and service
The money you donate goes to our ministries to the poor, our co-sponsored ministry Nativity Academy, the Peru ministry and the ministry for our retired sisters, Marian Home. | |
