Background:
In 1994, a sub-region of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious held a daylong gathering of religious in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Collaborative ministry interest groups were created. Project AIMM (Archdiocesan Inter-Community Ministry Model) was created to oversee these collaborative efforts and Sister Anne Mary Lochner, OSU was appointed the first Executive Director. After a few years, Project Women grew out of one of the interest groups and Sister Anne Mary chose to move to Project Women, becoming its first Executive Director. Project Women is currently located in the old Ursuline Academy building, the first educational site of the Ursulines who came to Louisville from Straubing, Germany in 1858.
